How Does Innova Evo Compare To Science Diet For Cats?
![]() |
The closest place to buy the EVO is like, 30 miles away, yet science diet is right here in town. How would you compare the two? Is science diet just as good? When I’ve had cat problems in the past, science diet has always been the cure all. Do you think its as good as EVO? Or will it be a good balanced diet for my kitten ?

I myself use Eukanuba…….been voted the best of all animal foods pretty much all the time. It is comparable to Science Diet, but Science Diet is much more costly and it is that way because a lot of times you have to buy it from the Vets office. So that makes it very costly. Some pet stores carry it, but a lot of pet stores carry Eukanuba as well. Eucanuba is excellent in vitimins, nutrients and is properly balanced and most domestic animals seem to really like it. Try that if you have it available close to you. If not, I guess I would stick with the Science Diet.
Innova EVO is out of Science Diet’s league. Science diet is over priced cheap food with a name. They pay vets to endorse it. It would be worth the trip to buy the EVO. I feel your pain-our closest pet store is 40 miles away.

Science Diet was supposed to be ‘good’ till I looked at what the label actually said. It’s not a good food at all, and I took my cats off it. Their dry coats immediately improved!
Check the labels–a good cat food has at least 35% protein. The first 5 ingredients should have 4 meat sources and one grain, and none of them should be by-products OR corn.
I’d say stick with EVO. The 50% protein ones may be a little rich at first, and cause diarhea, but it’s the better food.
You can also look into Wellness Core, Royal Canin kitten food, Royal Canin Siamese 38, and Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul–all good foods. If you have a pet supplies store near you they can order it for you so you don’t have to travel so much. Or buy triple the food when you do go, to reduce your trips.
You only get what you pay for, and in the case of Science Diet, much much less. EVO is a wonderful food – no grain, no by products. Real meat. It’s the closest thing you’re going to get to the diet that Nature intended for cats to eat, unless you’re going to feed raw. My suggestion would be to make the trip to get the EVO, and just stock up when you are there so that the trip’s worthwhile.
BTW – all of my rescue kittens get EVO canned and dry, and they absolutely THRIVE on it.
I give my cat Purina One and Delicat. She is very healthy and has a nice coat. She loves those too. It is just as good as Nutro, EVO or Science Diet. I think Purina realized that customers loved their pets and wouldn’t feed them garbage, so they upgraded their cat foods. Corn is always bad for a pet. It is hard to digest and cause crytalization of the urinary tract and kill your cat.
This post is commendable, Crazy Video Clips is absolutely right Fish Oil is the best choice. At first, most people were wary of fish oil benefits, especially veggies. But with the addition of a flavour(mostly lemon), fish oil is gaining in popularity everywhere. Fish oil can now be taken as a regular health supplement. It acts as a wonderful drug in the field of coronary heart diseases. Blood pressure is normalized and cholesterol and triglycerides are reduced to healthy levels. Pregnant women can safely take fish oil as it increases the mental growth of the unborn child. It further promotes the motor skills and coordinates the mental activity of a toddler.
