Monday-Satarday I eat a balanced diet, but also go gym. However Sunday I dont eat anything but drink water and the fast is broken on Monday morning.

    Depends what you eat on the other six days. The body has an uncanny knack of compensating for times of scarcity by stocking up in times of plenty.
    You’d be better advised to just spread your food consumption out evenly over the week.

  • I am sure that you will see a reduction in weight but whether it or not will work long term is another thing. For one, to have effective weight loss you need a balanced diet and exercise which I see that you have been doing. Two, you will want to speed up your metabolism. To do that, you will eat six SMALL nutritious meals a day as well as continue to exercise. Avoid eating late at night before bed and make sure you do not skip breakfast.
    You definitly should not fast without first consulting with a doctor. Fasting can be dangerous because you are withholding nutrients from your body on a regular basis. Long term it can affect your body in a way that you do not want. It is like the diet we saw years ago about the woman who lost weight eating nothing but doughnuts. You might as well eat doughnuts if you plan on fasting on a regular basis. Plus, withholding food for even a day signals your body that there is a loss of food and that food supply is not regular so instead of losing weight it begins to store fat for survival purposes. Your metabolism slows down as well.

    No, it will make you gain weight. If you starve your body of food, it slows down your metabolism rate and burns fat slower (to help you survive) which means that when you do eat, it’ll turn more of the food to fat to help you survive the days you dont eat.
    Reducing junk food, eating fruit and veg and exercise is the only way to achieve weight loss and sustain it.

    no i really do not recommend that…. the first source of energy your body uses is actually protein which means you’ll be losing your muscles which are normally used to burn the fat… less muscle… less fat gets burnt normally!!!
