Sounds good doesn’t it? But in reality this is very hard to do. Your doctor gives you a sheet of boring diet foods, and tells you to eat what sounds like dust and exercise like you are training for a marathon, and somehow you will end up happy and thin!.
Here are three weight losing tips, that will help to get you started. We all tend to think it has to be all or nothing to lose weight and get back in shape, but this is not true!.
This is a recipe for failure. But with some good weight losing tips, you can and will take control again. You need to trick your mind and body with some slightly lower calories, and a bit more movement here and there, and just like tweaking a car engine, you finally get it purring like a kitten!
1. The next time you get groceries, allow yourself lots of time, because this will be your research mission. Once you do this, you won’t need to do it again. but the first time allow some time. Start looking at different brands of your favorite foods. Everything from bread, crackers, cookies… everything packaged. Start looking at the calorie count, and find a brand that uses less calories to make their product. I don’t mean “diet food” just regular name brands. Sometimes just changing brands of breads can save you 30 calories or more. You may not think this is much but, if you save 30 here and 30 there it adds up.
2. Shop in the outer aisles of the grocery store as much as possible. This is where all the fresh foods are. The problem is, to get to the fresh stuff, you have to walk past all those chips, cookies and pop that are on the ends of aisles to tempt you. Just walk by. Come up with some recipes that you can cook from scratch a few nights a week, and you will save on calories, fat and sodium and it will taste great.
3. Next time you go to the mall, wear your running shoes, and walk the mall like you are late for the bus first, before you do any shopping. You will be amazed at how big these malls are. Even the local Home Depot or Walmart are monsters, and you can fit in a good walk by doing this. Then tell yourself you have to do this, before you can do any shopping. Think of the shopping as a reward.
There are so many ways to trick your mind and body. If someone told you to go and walk a couple of blocks tonight, you might think.. boring, and not do it, or put if off as work.. but go and walk the mall, hardware store, or whatever, and at least you can reward yourself with some shopping afterwards and you are more likely to try it. My mother goes with a senior group and they tracked the local two floor mall at 2 miles when they were done their walk! Before you know it, you will get on that scale and it will start to move downward!

Controlling Your Blood Sugar to Lose Weight
Each health expert has there own philosophy about what they believe is the best way to lose weight. However, if there is one thing that most if not all would agree upon is that the quickest way to start losing fat is to control your blood sugar.

Blood Sugar Defined

Moreover, if this process continues unabated, your body could become insulin resistant, which means your pancreas has to produce more and more insulin to manage the glucose concentration that initially was handled by a smaller amount of insulin, which could eventually lead to type 2 diabetes.
So controlling your glucose is not only important for weight loss, but controlling it will also lower the risk of developing diabetes and other diseases.
How To Control Your Blood Sugar
The easy answer to controlling your blood sugar or glucose levels is to tell you to cut back on the carbohydrates you eat. This is partly true. But controlling your glucose has more to do with the type of carbs you eat as oppose to the amount.
Because of this complexity, your glucose levels will not become as elevated as it would be with the chips, which also means a slower rise of your insulin levels. This slower rise of insulin is part of the process that helps you to control your blood sugar. So to control your blood sugar, you need to eat more complex carbohydrates.
For instance, a 100 Calories of lentils will have a different effect on your glucose levels than 100 calories of chips. This is because your body has to do more work to get to the carbohydrates in the lentils as oppose to the chips. The reason for this is that the carbohydrate in lentils are more complex than the simple carbohydrates found in chips.
And what are complex carbohydrates? These are just about any type of carb that is still close to its natural form. More precisely, it is foods that have not been processed.

How Do You Get A Reluctant Doctor To Prescribe Weight Loss Medications?
I am 5ft2 and almost 200 pounds. I have a hard time losing weight through excersise because I have severe Fibromyalgia. I eat a very good diet of 1,000 calories a day but although I am not gaining I am not losing either. My doctor says he doesnt like to prescribe any weight loss meds to anyone. I do not want to go see another doc because this current one is so good with my other illnesses and it is in my contract that if i see anyone else, he will not see me anymore. What do I do?? Help!
