Switching Your Diet With a Glycemic Index Food List

When you have decided to change your diet to this much healthier option, having a glycemic index food list to take with you grocery shopping is going to be a wonderful help. It will help you stay on track with your purchases so that you can start buying healthier options, but don’t completely switch out your entire list for these newer foods just yet.
Having a glycemic index food list is great for keeping you on track, but you should start small. Changing your diet too quickly can make most people uncomfortable, and it can make them quit in order to go back to their old, familiar diet. This is a really bad move, and it could mean that you eat unhealthy for the rest of your life. A gradual change is the best way to go onto any diet, to avoid such a shock to the system.
Eventually you can go up to twenty five percent, then fifty, then seventy five, and eventually you will have your entire list switched over to the new food. You will be glad you did it gradually, as it will give you an easier time to adjust.
Start by switching out just a few items on your normal shopping list for healthier low glycemic options. Depending on the size of your list, I usually like to start by switching out about ten percent of the total items on the list. Purchase the healthier foods, and leave the rest of the list what you usually by.
When you switch over to a glycemic index food list in this way, you will be making it easier on yourself, and before you know it you will be on a healthier diet for life, which you can use to improve your life and your shape.
