The Laws That Determine Weight Loss

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

When it comes to losing weight everyone is different. Some people can lose weight easily, while for others it is titanic struggle.

Some people never diet and they seem to be eating all the time and never gain a pound. What causes that to happen?

Although people are different in the manner in which they lose weight and gain weight, the laws that determine weight loss or gain is the same. If people follow these laws of healthy weight loss they would be able to maintain their desired weight without the aid of diet plans or medication.

The laws are simply that our weight depends upon the amount of energy taken in as food and the amount of energy that we expend through our daily activities. Since this energy is measured in calories, your loss of weight is reflected in the amount of calories you burn each day against the amount of calories taken in.

The number of calories that a person burns each day depends upon several things. The type of work that you do. If you do manual labor that requires a lot of exertion you will burn more calories from your work activity than someone that sits at a desk all day.

This means that if you are not losing weight, you are taking in more calories than you’re burning through your activities. If you are losing weight then the amount of calories that you are burning is greater than the amount of calories that you are taking in.

Your lifestyle will have an effect on the amount of calories you burn. For instance, someone active in sports or other physical activities can intake more calories and burn them than a couch potato. So if you have a sedentary job or do not indulge in a physical hobby you will find it hard to burn those extra calories. It is imperative that you find some sort of exercise to help burn the calories that you intake.

Your basal metabolic rate which can be due to genes (usually inherited) is also called your resting weight. Your metabolic rate can be lower or higher than average. Usually we do not associate resting with the burning of calories, however your weight can play a part in the amount of calories you burn when at rest. These are calories that are burned just by the act of living.

Another factor in the amount of calories burned while at rest is your weight. The greater your body weight, the more calories that are required to maintain the body in its present state. A person weighing a little over 100 pounds will require less food to maintain a certain weight than a 200 pound person would.

The laws that determine weight loss are really quite simple. Your calorie intake must be less than the calories that you burn in order to lose weight.
