I’m a genetically light weight person, couldn’t gain weight if I tried. What benefits could I gain from regular exercise. Is the increase in lifespan through exercise solely due to the healthy weight, or does the exercise itself help. What other benefits are there.

well, you are stronger and healthy overall, maybe not in weight, but your heart is hopefully healthy and your muscles are healthy
You can be at a healthy weight but still by an unhealthy person. Exercise strengthens your heart, helps keeps arthritis away and it’s proven to have a link in giving a person a clearer mind and have a lower chance in developing depression.
The benefits are mental and physical. Excercising helps you sleep better, and it just makes you feel good, both mentally and physically. It actually causes a chemical reaction in the brain promoting a good mood.
exercising will make your muscles stronger and lubricate your joints. Not only will you look stronger, but you will have good posture and good self-esteem. Working out sends happy chemicals to your brain and it makes you feel energized, confident, and complete. try it sometime. walking 20-40 mins is also good. i walk/run for about an hour an a half each day and 3 hours at the gym but thats because i try to loose weight.
