I want to lose some weight, and i have heard that you can have protein shakes for meal replacements, i have been recommended Maximuscle Protein Diet (Obviously i would exercise too!)
Question is: Whats the best stuff out there? And does it work?

  • First off protein does not work it is just a nutritional value of food.
    Protein shakes are suitable as meal replacement. However avoid maximuscle like the plague unless you fancy blowing some lottery winnings on a fairly disliked product by 99% of people that use protein supplements.
    I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. It’s pretty cheap in a 10lb bag from monstersupplements.com. However for meal replacement you really want something with both whey(fast digesting) and casein protein(slow digesting) in it. A cheaper way of doing this is buying from myprotein.co.uk either premixed or separately and mixing your self.
    If you don’t use either of these suggestions then just be careful your not getting ripped off and always check the nutrition value. No point in buying it if it has 50g of sugar or fat per serving.

    I drink carnation instant breakfasts in the mornings for a healthy breakfast on the go. Im not sure if they are the best things for losing weight, but they taste really good and have twice the protein of an egg and twice the calcium of yogurt. They taste awesome and come in different flavors.
