What Is A Good Diet For Liver Functionality?
![]() |
My father in law has been a 25 year alcoholic, and the doctor has convinced him to stop. His liver is still about 30 percent operational, but the doctors say like they do not know what type of diet or vitamin supplements he should take to help with functionality. Even the dieticians are stumped. QUACKS!

A healthy way to help your liver naturally detoxify is to eat cruciferous vegetables. These include: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, watercress, and radish. 5-7 servings per week from this category. A serving is one cup for leafy greens such as kale and a half-cup for the other vegetables listed. These foods can help your body produce enzymes, which aid in detoxification.
Here are the foods in order most helpful for liver function. The list isn’t accurate but just a guide.
Onions/Garlic
Crucifix Vegetables
Lemon Juice in Warm Water
Apples
Artichoke
The most important thing to keep in mind is to eat more food with active enzymes which aids in better digestion, any food that is not cooked for that matter so Raw Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts & Seeds, Salads etc.
