Don't know if this helps but in the last 15 months I have lost 1stone 8 lbs. My diet has not changed much but I have tried to watch portion sizes and note the fat content. I've done water based exercise aqua aerobics and swimming for 3 hours a week - it's great!
Obviously I don't know what is a normal diet for you - I include veg and fruit in mine but I love desserts!
My plan is for the "patient" - there's no quick fix here but it does work!
Good luck.

yes it will but try to incorporate it into your life eg walking to work, take the stairs not the lift etc rather than going to the gym. And diet is not just about weight control, your whole body depends on your having a good, mixed diet, a little of lots of different foods and drink more (not alcohol!) to make up for all the sweating you'll do. Good luck

When it comes to burning calories, you do not have to burn yourself out to make a difference. Increasing the rate that you burn calories builds up over time, and each time you move makes a contribution to improving the rate at which you burn fuel. The larger you are, the more calories you burn when you move, so in this case, bigger people are at an advantage. There are a million ways to move more - make exercise available and enjoyable, and pace yourself.

Hi
It is all about doing the right math : How much are you intakes of calories (through food) and how much are you putting out through exercising.
If you eat like 2 meals at BK (10,000 Calories) and walk for 30 minutes a day (approx 500 Calories) then you will sure gain weight.
here is a thing you can do :
1 - Do 1 hour a day of exercise
2 - Eat Moderately and try to avoid Junk (you can always eat 1 meal of Junk a week)
3 - Try to buy low fat products and avoid Chips/Chocolate/Pastry
Remember the holidays are coming and you do not want to look like the "one" who gained weight ;(
Best of Luck

It will make a huge difference but it might take some time.
Try to exercise in the morning as it'll increase the energy needs of the body for the whole day. Also, exercising intensively will do the job better. But you don't just need cardiovascular exercise if you aren't planning on doing it at least 30 minutes every day. And as you start to get in shape you'll be able to work out more intensely and for longer periods of time and naturally your body will burn out even more energy.
This will surely help, but if you also want to make sure that you lose weight you'll have to work out your muscles too, especially back muscles, this will accelerate your metabolism and the energy loss will add up.
Don't worry, you won't look all Schwarzenegger, girls put on muscle mass much, much slower.

Oh yes exercise will help raise your metabolism and change the balance of calories in and energy use out. However your body needs balanced nutrtition to make the best of the exercise you are planning to be doing. More protein, less carbs. It takes energy to digest protein so you will already be changing the balance if you can take one or 2 protein shakes instead of 2 meals for a month, together with a healthy 3rd meal with lots of colourful vegetables - for the vitamins are in the colour- and fruit. Then go onto a protein shake as a healthy breakfast after. click my name to find your % body fat and suggested programmes.
