I will be taking a number of grading seminars in the near future, not worried about flexibility but want something that will give me a high level of fitness as rapidly as possible. I will have to do most of my training alone. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thai- bo, its also related to self defence moves , its like exercise fighting !!!! its works really well on thighs/bum/tum and arms, its really up tempo
Another one that could be used as well when you dont have much time or dont feel the best for exercise, Thai chi is a good one, its like standing up Chinese form of yoga. It keeps you grounded and gives you mental energy (chi) and will encourage you to commit to your nutrition rules, its nice to do it outdoors.

I took a combat kickboxing class @ Marinoble’s down in Roseville, CA and, in addition to learning most of my bread and butter fight moves, I lost about twenty pounds and three inches off my waste in three months. Kickboxing not only gets you is killer shape, it teaches some practical self defense. Make sure your class is more than a perky, over tanned blonde leading you through drills for half an hour. Combat experience is key!
Either MMA, ju-jitsu, or Judo. All three are a severe workout. Eat lots of protein though or will forever be sore. Meat and bananas are good. Try to avoid sport and energy and soda drinks. They give you a spike but then you crash.
