Fat as a whole may cause us enough concerns but there is one kind of fat that drives many of us to distraction! Sometimes, even if you lose weight overall and reduce your excess body fat, you can find it almost impossible to shift your cellulite. So, what is cellulite and why can it be such a problem?

In simple terms, cellulite is actually a collection of fat that kinda just “lumps” together. You can tell if you have it because the skin above it will look lumpy rather than smooth. Carrying too much fat concerns a lot of us but carrying too much of this stuff just looks bad as well. So, for example, if you have concentrations around your thighs you may feel real self-conscious about wearing a swimsuit at the beach.

Sorry, but there are no absolute miracle cures, and cellulite reduction can be hard. This isn’t like any other fat and standard weight loss methods may not completely eradicate all the symptoms of a cellulite problem even if you do lose fat in general. One of the problems here is that these fat deposits lie quite close to the skin … so you can improve the way they look with some anti cellulite products … but this may not be the best way to actually get rid of your problem once and for all.

Cellulite causes can vary. Some say it is all about your genes, others say it relates to the actual type of body fat that you have and yet others claim it’s to do with the make-up of your skin. It’s a real common problem and a lot of people will have problems with cellulite to a certain degree at some point in their lives. Unfortunately, some will suffer worse than others.

One of the best ways of working out how to get rid of cellulite is to look at your body fat issues as a whole. Cellulite may well be the last fat to leave the building but it will go eventually if you can find a weight loss program that works with you to get rid of all of your excess body fat.

Regular exercise will also help you get rid of cellulite. If you can eat a healthy diet that attacks your body fat anyway and then back this up with a fitness program then you may see some quicker results. Toning up your body’s muscles, smoothing out the skin in the affected areas as well as trying to lose weight may well be an option worth looking at.
