Foods You Must Avoid If You Want To Lose Weight

The rapid rate at which we gain weight these days is no longer funny. No thanks to the hectic working hours, the sandwiches and the takeouts. It is becoming increasingly alarming to see that over fifty percent of the total population have some form of food disorder. However, if you really want to lose weight, then there is hope. The very first step to losing weight is by getting rid of certain foods from your diet. These high calorie foods are a no-no if you want to get rid of your weight.

1. Get Rid of Soda

If you have to lose that weight, you have got to cut down on your soda intake. Even when it is the diet type, it is always better to get rid of it completely. Soda contains caffeine hence its addictive nature. It is also possible that you think you cannot stand water. In your best interest, it is better to reduce your intake of soda and drink a lot more water. If you find ordinary water unbearable, why not get mineralised water. Or drink green tea which helps reduce your insulin secretion and hence the rate of fat build up. Green tea also gives you the caffeine fix you need to stay alert and active.

2. Stop Smoking and Drinking

If you can, stop doing the two of them right away. If you cannot, then get help. Research has proven that alcohol only contains the pure, concentrated form of complex sugar. Thus making the body undergo the normal carbohydrate processing which in turn secretes insulin which further increases the fat stored up in the body.

3. Cut Down on the Sugar

It is wise to reduce your sugar intake. Refined sugar is a complex compound which often has to undergo the same processes foods like rice undergo. When there is a surplus of it in the body, it gets converted into fat and stored in the adipose tissues.

4. Coffee is a no-no

If you must really lose weight then coffee is not a good idea at all. This is because while it increases your body metabolism and gives you some energy, it releases Cortisol which is a fat inducing hormone. Also, the energy you gain makes you feel hungry when you are not really hungry. Here is what to do: as soon as you notice that you are feeling hungry in the mid-mornings, take a fruit snack. Fruits like apple and almonds are great for your body.

5. Avoid Junk and Fast Foods

Nothing increases your weight faster than foods like pop corn, cakes, cookies, potato chips, candy and chicken. The thing about these foods is that they are really addictive and you can get hooked to them because they taste good. Besides, the manufacturers really don’t care about your weight. Thus the reason they keep putting out ads on a daily basis. So, avoid these kinds of foods like a plague if you want to live long.
