I’m an athlete, so I’m all about exercise. However, I have some friends and family members who would greatly improve their health/lose weight, if they exercised on a regular basis (even just walking). How can I motivate them to exercise, without seeming like I’m nagging them?

If they can’t see the good your exercise program has done for you, there is little you can do to help, other than continuing to be a good example of the “right way” to live.
You can always say, “Hey, I’m going to take a walk through the park. I heard such-and-such is going on there today. Want to come along and see?” Make your requests as innocuous as possible, and they’ll never know your intent was to get them off their duffs.
Maybe try seeing if they’d like to take a dance class with you.
There’s no real answer. If you do try and help, they’re going to think you’re a nag. If you don’t help, the thought is going to sizzle in your brain.
