All diets work in the same way. If they restrict calories to a point where you are burning more than you eat, you will lose weight. If the diet does this than it will work, if not you will fail. Whether or not a diet is healthy is separate from whether or not it will work. If you severely restrict calories to under 1200 per day, you will lose weight but going this route is very unhealthy so be careful when reading about these diets. Also beware of diets that limit you to one food. Even if you are taking in a good amount of calories, you won’t be able to get all the vitamins, nutrients, fat, carbohydrates or protein from just one type of food.

I did lose weight with slimming world, but unfortuantely I have very little self control or will power! I did miss not being able to have protein on the same plate as carbs etc, it was easy to follow, but I love food too much to miss out on my beef when having a roast, so i gave up.
I know lots of people who have had success with it, but like any of these sort of diets, the minute you go back to your old eating habits, the weight creeps back on.
My ffiend has been doing the lighter life diet, but now she has finsihed she is putting the weight back on.
ALL diets for losing weight work in EXACTLY the same way – you take in less calories than you expend.
Even if you are not Calorie counting the end result of “points” or free foods or whatever is hopefully taking in less calories than you use. It is basic biology unfortunately.
