Is My Current Level Of Exercise Appropriate For Weight Loss?
Now that I have a free summer full of nothing to do, I’ve been swimming and walking much more than I was previously. I walk around 6 miles and swim roughly 40-60 lengths of a 25m pool 5 times a week. I weigh about 220 pounds right now, I’d like to bring that down to 210 soon. Are these types of exercise good for weight loss?

Prolonged Cardio-vascular Exercise And Fat Loss Question?
Here’s a question for all you sports scientists. If you’re engaging in a long period of CV exercise, e.g. > 1hr, will the body burn fat during the workout or is it only once you stop. Is it more likely to burn muscle during this time. Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent article outlining which substrates the body’s using as fuel at what points during the exercise?
I Want To Adopt A Vegetarian Diet For Myself (and Encourage My Family To Do So, Also). How Do I Start?
I come from a family of meat eaters. My husband is 33 and I am 31. My kids are 2 years old and the younger one is 10 months. I am not trying to change the kids’ diet because they are small and need their nutrients. However, I am trying to get myself started and then my husband. He doesn’t eat very much meat, right now anyway.

What’s The Difference Between Using An Exercise Bike And Riding A Real Bike?
Ok so live in the pacific northwest, and if you live there you know how much it rains, so anyways i’m originally a runner but thanx to my self discipline and determination i contracted a stress fracture. so i’ve started using a bike as my exercise, i ride up and down hills constantly for 3 hours. i was wondering if using an exercise bike would be the same workout or if i should just get the hecka soaked when it rains outside.
