My wife is 8 weeks pregnant and is having terrible backaches. She met her doctor and the doctor said nothing is wrong with her. Does anyone know the best exercise that she can be doing to relieve the pain?

You should not go to the chiropractor instead see a physical therapist & an orthopedist and also ask your primary care physician what he thinks of you going to a chiropractor first. Trust me he wont think much of him or her
Here is the truth about what they do. A chiropractor can do spinal manipulations to relieve stress on spinal nerves caused by things like muscle tension or a slight misalignment of the discs. The manipulation is not a permanent change of anything though, and no – they can’t permanently change the natural shape or curvature of a spine. An orthopedist can evaluate the situation and determine if a scoliosis is actually present, and if a brace would be of help. A brace has to be individually fitted though- it’s not a one size fits all proposition. A chiropractor can be helpful in musculo-skeletal aches and pains, through manipulation and massage- but aside from that it’s all smoke and mirrors. If you have back pain from the misalignment, they can help relieve that. But nothing they do is going to be a permanent fix. Spines don’t work that way. To change a spine takes surgery and braces. Most want to drag out the process for as long as possible. There plan is to take a full body X-ray and have you going to them for a long time, by nit picking every little thing. No ones spine is perfect. In my opinion they are just as good a back rub. But to each his or her own. Chiropractors do not have a medical degree nor are they FDA approved. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.
DO NOT GO TO THE CHIROPRACTOR.
The physical therapist will probably show you some back exercise. There are three main ones that i use I like the first best
1) Lie on your stomach
2) Prop yourself up on your elbows extending your back
3) Start straightening your elbows, further extending your back
4) Continue straightening your elbows until a gentle stretch is felt
5) Hold for 15 seconds
6) Return to the starting position

Hi I had bad back pain for the first 12 weeks and then it does get better, I didnt do any excercises as my back is quite sore anyways so excercise will of made it worse, all I did was use an hot water bottle hot enought to take out the ache and not too hot as to harm the baby or me, and that helps loads, I know its a bit hot to be doing it in this weather but still it works and will make your wife feel much better, massages always help too but if you are like me and hated to lie on your front thinking of your baby you try and put up with the pain.
lots of cushion behind he back will help too as well as heat, heat pads that you stick on clothing also help too. and of course a warm bath will do the trick also.
i know how she feels, im the same :-
i go swimmin when i can which helps wonders & when i lie down i lie on the left side as it helps the blood flow easily and doesn’t trap nerves or anything, so it helps wonders
good luck xx
swimming is the best exercise as the water make you like weightless, less stress on the body and also helps very much in later pregnancy
Keep mobile, go for a mild walk your carrying extra weight so don’t be to hard on yourself if you don’t feel able to exercise regularly.
She can go see a chiropractor. I have been seeing mine on a weekly basis since I was 10 weeks. Try to find a chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy.
Swimming is definately the best pregnancy exercise
