Hypothetical Carb, Fat, Protein Question As Related To Fat Loss?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

Hypothetical question- 3 men of similar weight and body composition go on special diets. One consumes 2200 calories from fat, another 2200 calories from carbs, and the other 2200 from protein. If their daily value calorie intake is 2500, would everyone lose the same amount of weight? What do you think would happen to each of them? Of course the effects are going to be detrimental, but in what ways. I am just trying to understand exactly how the carb/lipid/protein ratio affects weight loss. It seems as if all the energy in whatever form is going to be used up anyways.

It’s been a while since I saw the reference, but I recall seeing that the metabolism of protein was less efficient than fats or carbs, thus leading to a SLIGHT (probably negligible) difference over the long term. The protein eater would lose slightly more weight.
