Question About Calories And Fat Loss?
![]() |
If someone eats a very low amount of calories a day and exercises a lot, can they lose 20 lbs of fat in 20 days. if they burned 3500 calories more than they consumed…
and when people say you shouldn’t lower your calories below 1000 or whatever, because you need them to give you energy. but don’t you want to use the fat as energy.
so, is it possible to burn 3500 calories a day more than you consume and lose 20 lbs of fat in 20 days?

The top 2 anwerers are right, plus, even if you WERE able to lose only fat, your skin would hang on you like a baggy shirt.
Very possible but not healthy and possible Yo Yo effect (aka dramatic weight loss then when you go back to normal habits Dramatic weight gain.)
Low cal, low carb, low sodium, low fat diets work because simply because your body needs SOMETHING to burn. if your considering doing this drink alot of water and the moment you feel dizzy or any sign of serious fatigue eat correctly.
everybody is diff. I did the cambells healthy request soup for 2 meals a day with as much rice to keep me not full… but not hungry for about 3 weeks and lost 20 pounds. I didn’t feel dizzy but every body is diff and I DIDNT exercise much to avoid body breakdown. that was about 2 months ago. I took a trip to Mexico and lol. gained 5 pounds. I love the food down there, Shrimp, fish… Cheap good food its hard not to eat lol.
well here is a good link to look up foodhttp://www.nutritiondata.com/
the soup that has low cals and sodium is the “healthy request” linehttp://www.campbellsoup.com/lowersodium.…
It’s possible to lose 1lb. a day but not probable. You would be absolutely exhausted. To burn 3500 calories a day you would be running, jumping, jogging, swimming, tread-milling, elliptical-ling yourself all day long. If a person wants to lose 20 lbs. they should give themselves a reasonable time to do it, 20 days isn’t even realistic. This is a awful thing to do to your body too, like throwing it into shock!
Soooooo my answer is no it is’nt possible.
what happens is your body goes into starvation mode. it says whooo i might not eat tommorrow soimgoing yo hang on to the fat foe the lean times. so no , that is why it takes calories to burn calories
