What Are Some Good Recipes For A Liquid Diet?
![]() |
Please do not give me milkshake, soup recipes or anything that has alcohol. I need some good ideas to keep me from burning out on what I do know I can have now. The reason I am on this diet is because my mouth is wired shut. I have a broken jaw bone.

This site has some recipse that are a bit…. interesting to say the least, but I guess they would sound good if it came down to it or nothing. There is a spaghetti, a pizza, a couple cereal, and an enchilada recipe. Hope you like them!http://www.widesmiles.org/cleftlinks/WS-…

They have some great recipes.
hmm…i don’t know if there is much else..you can try loose jello..just add extra cold water during the end part of the recipe.
I know you said no soups, but honestly, that’s your best bet. There are millions of soups, cold, hot, and even dessert soups. Don’t give up on that category of foods…
procees some veggies in juicer or blender and make a vegetable juice.
let ice cream or sherbert melt so it can be sucked with straw
Noodles, rice, potatoes, etc, can be put in food processor with meats and veggies and add little broth to make thin.
A friend of mine used to have to puree her husband’s meals because of his multiple and severe medical issues. She often made beans and rice, added chicken broth, and made a thin puree out of it in the blender. Does that sound like something you’d like? Season it nicely, with a little salt and pepper, and it should be fine.
Buy a juicer and juice some organic vegetables and fruit.
Sesame milk is very nourishing. I tried soaking the seeds before blending, but it turned out that toasting them was better. Some people use it as a milk substitute. You’ll need unhulled seeds. Put 200 grams in a hot skillet and turn until they stop popping ( if they begin to smoke you’ve gone too far ). Then blend half of them with about 3/4 cup of water until smooth. Add more water, to about half the blender jar, and add about 70 grams ( 3 oz ) of whole cocoa ( the type that naturally includes the cocoa butter ), some ground cardamon, a few dried bananas and about 4 spoonfuls of raw sugar ( the type that is naturally brown ). Once that is all well blended, pour it into a container until it is half full, and fill the rest with freshly squeezed orange juice. If you let it sit in the refrigerator overnight you might need to stir it in the morning, but it tastes even better. Then you can repeat all this with the other half of the seeds ( if you leave them for later they may get soggy and not blend as well ).
There are an endless number of recipes to blend for your sons liquid diet! The trick is using enough tasy and nutritious liquids to thin the meal. Campbells soups, especially the chuncky version are quite tasty and blend down very easily. Carnation instant breakfast is also a very healthy choice, very similar to ensure in nutrients. Blend this or a protein powder in to every shake you make!
Freeze fruit for a frostier drink. (Banana’s work well)
Avoid sweetened frozen fruit which may make the drink too syrupy sweet.
Trouble getting the frozen Yoplait out of the container? Tear off the foil cap and then microwave for about 20 seconds on high. Use a long handled spoon to scoop it out from the bottom.
Drink too thick? Add more juice.
Drink too thin? Add more fruit or ice cubes.
Drink too tart? Add a packet of sweetener or 2 tablespoons silken tofu.
Drink too sweet? Add lemonade, lemon juice or 2 tablespoons tofu.
Almost all fruit tastes good in a smoothie, with one glaring exception: Grapes!

One of the best things you can get is Carnations Instant Breakfast. You can now get it in 8 oz packages or a big tub. Be sure to read the box as they also have no sugar type. Our daughter use to have this every morning with a piece of toast. It has vitamins in it. My hubby and I often have it for lunch.
