You are on the right track looking for cardio to decrease the belly. There is no “best” one-size-fits-all exercise that will work for everybody. And I’m sure you’ve heard it before, there is no spot toning.
What you need to focus on to lose weight is this simple equation: Calorie Output is greater than Calorie Intake.
One of the biggest cardio calorie burners will be intervals. You can use the elliptical, bike or treadmill…or switch it up so you don’t get bored. Used a scale of difficulty from 1 – 10: 1 you could do this all day; 10 you are about to pass out. Warm up those muscles and get the body ready for the work for about 5 minutes at a 3 or 4. To start do five intervals: 1 minute at a 7 or 8, 2 minutes at a 5. Cool down for another 5 minnutes at a 3. This will equal a 25 minute cardio workout. As you progress, make it 2 minutes at a 7 or 8, and 1 minute at a 5. You can also add more intervals to increase overall time and include an incline if working on the treadmill.
Hope this helps!
In regards to a body cleanse:
Yes, we do carry toxins with us. A body cleanse is not a bad idea. If you do want to pursue this option, I suggest doing one under the guidance of a nutritionist, naturopath, or other certified professional to make sure you are still getting the nutrients you need while cleansing.

From my experience, interval training (IT) is the best.
It’s short bursts of very intense exercises that can burn off more calories than normal cardio exercises.
An example of IT – do sprints with your jogging, add jogging to your brisk walking or increase the difficulty level or pace when on treadmill or stationary bike.
Combined IT with weight training. This is an excellent way to build up more muscle as muscle raises your basal metabolic rate (i.e. you burn off calories while resting) and burns off fat faster (3 times faster). The more muscle you’ve, the higher your metabolic rate and the faster you burn off fat.

I am a huge fan of Cardio Kick boxing and Step aerobics. It’s a great workout to begin with and it involves twisting the stomach. I also try to do 10 minutes of abs before my cardio to get my stomach muscles working before kicking into my cardio.
