How Do You All Exercise Your Dogs In The Winter?
![]() |
I have a 2 year old border collie who does agility. We recently moved, and her winter exercise fix was agility inside on the carpet, but now the floors are hard, and we can’t do it outside.
How do you exercise your dogs in the winter? Unfortunately, playing ball for an hour won’t work. I need something really high energy.

I take mine to the local dog park at off times when nobody’s there. They tear around and chase each other for a while and it wears them right out pretty fast. It’s harder to run in the snow, and they have to use more energy to keep warm. When they’re tired, we hop in the car and head for home to warm up and have a nap.
you can use a treadmill or let them play around in the snow, if you let them play in the snow feed them extra because they need extra fuel to keep warm!!
I invest in a good quality pair of winter coat for my Whippet so he is protected from the elements when outside. I get them at http://www.k9apparel.com
