How Do You Get The Sweat Odor Out Of Clothes That You Exercise In?
![]() |
I am a runner and after a period of time the underarms of my exercise clothing get funky. In the past, I just threw them out but I have tried the newer fabrics for exercise and they are more expensive so I don’t like that method any longer. Is there something I can do to get rid of that odor?

I use the new All concentrate and it works great.Use the hottest water you can, look on the label and see. Then if it still doesn’t take the odor out,put 1/2 cup vinegar in the wash, with the detergent.Wash and dry on the line if they are white, sun removes the yellowish stain under the arm Hope this helps.
1) place in washing machine
2) put in appropriate amount of detergent
3) start washer cycle
4) remove laundry when finished washing
5) place in dryer
6) turn on dryer and dry thoroughly.
Kidding, but really, try washing with baking soda or a detergent with that as a base. As soon as you get home from working out, wash them immediately, don’t let them sit and just soak in your sweat.
Baking soda, it’s cheap too. Throw them in the sink in hot water with a box of baking soda and let them soak for a long time like overnight and then wash as usual. Good luck.
Yep!! Wash them daily, with laundry soap! That usually works.
Machine wash after each use. Use detergent and 1/2 cup of baking soda in each load. You can pour in at the same time as detergent, or in the rinse cycle. The baking soda neutralizes and eliminates odors. This is how I always wash our workout clothes.
wash with baking soda….or is it baking powder….crap i cant remember which one, but one of em work….i promise : )
Try Downy fabric softener. I love the clean, fresh scent it leaves on my clothes (even after running and tennis) plus it leaves my clothes, towels and bedsheets really soft.
For your sweat/odor problem, use a heavy duty deodorant like Secret Platinum, I swear by it.
