For your height being a man, I think a good weight to maintain to be healthy is 170-175 lbs.

1)Start very slowly,it's useless to run for 2 weeks then have 4 months off because you get injured
2)It helps to just walk for a few weeks until your legs get used to it
3)add maybe 4 to 5 minutes of slow jogging every few weeks
4)don't run everyday

You need to calculate your body mass index to know your ideal weight. There's usually a range. Your BMI is 27.3 based on your weight and height. Therefore, you're a little overweight (25.0 - 29.9). Your normal weight index should be: 18.5 - 24.9. You just need to lose 10 - 15 pounds.

Get yourself some really good running shoes. Stay away from cross trainers and basketball shoes. Start off slow. Most people want to jump right in but that's how muscle strains and sprains occur. Eat healthy and cut your carbs. Stay away from refined sugars. Take low calorie protein before and after your runs as it will give you lots of energy. Caffiene is a no no. Never drink a redbull before you go for a run as it will do nothing more than dehydrate you. While Running drink pure water or sport drinks like gatorade or powerade to restore sweated out electrolytes.
Last but not least be kind to you knees. Running on concrete or asphalt will be very hard on them. Find some trails or a track to run.

Don't actually start running right away. Depending on how sedentary you are you might want consider just walking, then power-walking, then jogging and move your way up to running. It's not a good idea to go from nothing to an extreme something in a short amount of time. Also, pay attention to the way your feet hit the ground. When you run try and land on the inside of your foot where the "ball" is that is right beneath your big toe. I was pretty sedentary for a long time, started running with a buddy of mine and I while running I landed on the outside of my foot and overtime I ended up fracturing my fibula ( i believe it was the fibula ). So becareful and work your way up.
