Is Aerobic Exercise Better For Weight Loss Compared With Anaerobic?

By Diet | Oct 28, 2009

I’m so over constantly switching the speeds on the treadmill for High Intensity Interval Training and I don’t want to bulk my legs up.
Will running at pretty much the same speed for a long period of time be just as effective for weight loss?

I found that when I did aerobics (treadmill, walking) I lost weight because I was burning calories and therefore fat. Don’t worry about bulking up, look at marathon runners. They are lean and trim.

no. high intensity intervals are actually more effective for burning fat and developing a lean body. Plus they are less time consuming than long slow distance cardio(aerobic exercise).
this type of training causes an effect known as EPOC…Excess Post(exercise) Oxygen Consumption. the EPOC phenomenon causes an increased rate of oxygen intake, an elevated consumption of fat for fuel and increases your metabolism up to 48 hours AFTER you exercise! burning fat while you rest!

Listen to wellness consultant and also consider that you dont HAVE to run to do intervals. You can use a heavy bag, you could jump rope, think of others, you can change it up so it doesnt get boring.
