Yes it is unhealthy to exercise after a meal, im studying health and nutrition. Your body has two types of muscles smooth muscles(muscles you can’t control), and skeletal muscles(biceps, triceps etc…). Your digestive system, is primarly made up of smooth muscles, they are doing work just like your other muscles you just can’t feel it. So by exercising after a meal your competing with two muscle groups. Your heart is pumping blood, oxygen and nutrients to your esophagus(a tube like muscle that forces food down your digestive track into your stomach). While also trying to pump blood, oxygen, and nutrients to your skeletal muscles you are trying to use. It is how ever healthy to eat something light and high in carbohydrates, fruit(especially banana’s rich with potassium to help fight off muscle cramps), drinks such as gatorade, and so on. Its best to spread out your meals so that they do not interfere with your workout. Its also a theory that exercising(with the exception of swimming) decreases your appetite so if you hold off you might not eat as much. So i suggest if you can’t hold out and are absolutly starving, wait 2 hours after your meal.

You should wait for at least 1hr. It’s best.

u need time to digest, if it isnt a huge meal give it about 45 min. if u workout right away ur blood goes to ur digestion of ur food and not ur muscles, also u may cramp up and possiblly throw up. its better to work out a lil hungry then a lil full.

yes, it most certainly is. it won’t have any immediate health damages but it definitely will in the long run. it is very bad for your stomach.
but if you eat a moderate amount of food (the recommended amount for a meal), then a mere 30-minute wait afterwards will suffice. after the 30 minutes, feel free to do whatever exercise you wish to do.

I too have heard that. However, at school, they are supposed to watch out for your health and we have P.E. right after lunch, so I’d assume it isn’t too bad. Just make sure not to go upside-down. The food in your stomach can get into your appendix and infect it.
I’m sure it’s fine. You just may get a sideache, but that’s to be expected.
