#1.Running For Weight Loss – How is it Done?
Let me guess? You are interested in running for weight loss… but you don’t know how it is done. Well, you have come to the right place. This article will tell you what you need to do to lose weight by running fore good.
First off, let me congratulate you. You have chosen to take up one of the very best methods for losing weight that you can possibly find. Running for weight loss is better than any “diet pills”, which are questionable at best and which can have very negative side effects. Ruining for weight loss is also far superior to going on one of the popular “starvation diets”. But, it’s still true that you’ve got to know what you are doing with your running program to make it work for you. Want to lose weight and keep it off fore good? Then there are some things you need to be aware of.
Running for Weight Loss and Your Diet
For one thing, successful weight loss stories always have two components: exercise and diet. They are, after all, the main building stones to work out how much calories you burn and how much calories you take in. And it is simple. Just burn more calories than you take in and you will lose weight. So running will give you and edge. You can eat more than a sedentary person and experience the same weight change!
However, it is of course better to use that edge and get a further advantage by eating healthy and wise. And a diet is nothing to get crazy about. I don’t think there is a need to starve yourself. But there is a need to not over-eat and to stay away from bad foods, like many soft drinks, candy, cookies, etc. Do that in combination with running and you are further than half way there. It’s that easy!
Running for Weight Loss – It’s All About Burning Calories
Running burns fat. You have probably heard people say that “fat burns into muscle”, but that’s not exactly true. There is no such thing as burning fat into muscle. Instead, what happens is that the fat gets burned away and that your muscle mass grows as you work out sufficiently.
When you want to maximise the calories burned while running, you will want to increase the length of your runs. But do this gradually as you risk injuries doing this. What you will also want to do is do one or two runs per week which include faster work. Tempo runs, intervals, some speed play (also known as fartlek), etc. It has been proven that this more intense running helps burn calories faster. And, even uptil 12-24 hours after such intense runs your metabolism works at a faster rate, meaning that the effects of these fast runs are magnified!
When you are just starting out, it is good to start with a running schedule that allows running and walking. Because you get to take the walking breaks in between to get your breath back, you will be able to run more. And the more you run, the more calories you burn.
Running is one of the easiest and most effective ways to lose weight. Running for weight loss does require discipline and persistence. However, after that it is simply about watching what you eat, gradually increasing your mileage and including some faster work in your running as well. It’s astounding that the weight loss industry is worth billions if it can be summed up so easily, isn’t it?
