What Are Some Great Types Of Exercise?
![]() |
I am interested in losing about 10-15 pounds and of course in order to do so I need to eat healthy and exercise. I have already started to eat healthy, I belong to oprah’s trainer’s website. So i now know what i can eat that is good for me. It also has great exercise tips and whatnot but, i was wondering if anyone knew some great effective exercises that gave them great results. I already go walking every now and then. Running doesn’t do much for me and i don’t like it as well so it’s hard to motivate myself to work out, so i was wondering if i should get one of those dvds on pilates or yoga or something. Do they work? Which one is more effective and gives great results? Any recommendations? Thanks for your help.

If you don’t like running, then don’t force yourself to run because you gonna lose interest and won’t stay long in the program to see results….
Great types of exercises? Well, they boil down to:
1. Fun, interesting ones and you like doing them
2. Rev up your heart rate to exercise your heart , to keep it strong and healthy
3. Crank up your metabolism to burn off body fat, to lose weight
Between Pilates and Yoga, there’s no right or wrong stuff to say one is better than the other. it really depends on what your body needs and what you want to achieve.
If you’re looking to develop strong core muscles (abs, butts, back and spine), want to get toned all over and have lean, strong body, then I think Pilates can do a better job here.
A DVD on Pilates is a good idea, really.
Just motivate yourself to workout. Run. I know you dont like it, and I dont either, but just do it. I run 2.5 miles every day. I got there from hard work. Drink plenty of water.
Yoga depends on tighening muscles and holding them.
Pilates is small but strong movements with the core tightening.
The problem for both is that you don’t move limbs alot to move the big muscles, which is how more calories are burned.
If you have access to a rowing machine, that is what you want to use. You go at your own pace and pull as hard as you choose. Hard work burns huge amounts of calories on them. But even light work burns as much as using some other machines.
I don’t like performing them but I suppose good ol’e sit-ups and push-ups. Also joining the nearby YMCA and taking classes there will help. Hope this helps!
Best wishes & God bless! Happy exercising!
