Do Your Friends Or Family Say Nasty Things To You About Your Diet/fitness Efforts?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

It seems that just when I am reaching my goals diet and fitness-wise, my aunt or my former best friend will say something like “you’re still top heavy” or “you’re losing your butt” or even “your left leg is bigger”. I know I shouldn’t care, but it really bothers me. I work really hard in my fitness regimen; and as anyone who has ever lost weight can attest, it’s hard to sacrifice things you love for the greater good. It’s like they don’t want me to feel good about myself. If they love me, why do they do that?

I get that alot and usually it’s not ill intended people just don’t think before they comment. I had to learn that I have a goal and when I work towards that it doesn’t matter what anyone says. The payoff is in the end I will reach my goal with or without their comments. At times when I think it is just a nasty comment I add something back like, ‘well i’ve been working out at the gym almost every day, maybe you’d like to join me,” or “i’m following the weight watchers plan, maybe we could do it together,” now and then someone will jump in but most of the time those with comments will quickly shut their mouth (haha)

They’re probably jealous that you are motivated enough to work out and make progress. Keep up the good work, and try to ignore it!

  • Redux071:

Well it could mean two things one is that they are jealous of your success and want to express it by teasing you or discouraging you. Another is that they maybe teasing you because they want you to work even harder. When they say you are still fat that can be used as a motivation to work even harder and before you know it you will have a great body. So even though the words may seem harsh just take it positively as motivational words and everything should work out fine.

  • Tina R:

it sounds like jealousy; don’t worry about them. You have to deal with yourself in the long run and your happiness

  • They are probably just wishing they could be as motivated as you are. Or they are immature b!tches. None of my family would ever say anything like that, and if my friends did, they wouldn’t be one anymore. They are supposed to be your support system and encourage you, not drag you down. I hope you do have some people who stand behind you and are rooting you on!
