How Can I Exercise On My Own And Enjoy Doing It?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

I’m a busy girl and I can really only spare maybe half an hour to one hour a day to exercise. I have no room in my schedule to join a sports team and I have no transportation to the gym.
I haven’t made exercising a priority because I eat healthy & I have a very high metabolism — I’m naturally skinny and I look fit even though I don’t work out. But after getting a lot of pressure from my family members to do more exercise, I’ve decided that I want to get them off my back & start doing some. Any suggestions on some light daily exercise I could do on my own a couple times a week?

Its definitely important to do something you enjoy.
For example, running and/or walking works out well for me. I love the feeling of running – its the only time I actually feel “free”. Its also a great time for me to be alone with my thoughts and myself. All it takes is some decent shoes and 30 minutes of my time. You don’t need any special equipment or anything else. The best exercise can be had for free without a gym. Run, do pushups, situps – and you’re done.
But you need to find out what you want to do. Do you like to run? Do you like to bike? You should easily be able to find something you can do in that small amount of time you have.
I’ve posted a link to a program that takes you from couch potato to 5k runner in 8 to 9 weeks. It only takes 30 minutes 3 times a week.
    Good luck!

Find something you *like*. It is so much easier to commit to doing it daily when it’s something you look forward to. Dance, yoga (like the first response), t’ai chi, bellydance, boxing, jumping rope, swimming.
Fitness really depends on healthy eating choices *and* staying moderately active. Your family is right that you should exercise for half an hour 3-5 days a week.
If you have cable On Demand, look under “Sports and Fitness” and then under “Exercise TV” — there are tons of choices under there that you can test-drive for free. There are 10 and 15 minute (sometimes longer) sections of exercise DVDs that you can try out for free.
Walking! Walking could be great for you. Good mind and body exercise.

I think cycling is the most enjoyable exercise. Ride you bike to and from work and on your hour break.
