  • Wally Z:

Some say that it is their form of green tea that cuts down the bad stuff. They do eat alot more fish and seafood than we do.
One thing to note and I do not know if this is the answer but there are two types of salt. Salt with sodium (including MSG) is not good for you while potassium salt is actually healthy. Again, I do not know which one they are using but sodium salt is more widely used in the world.
There is a low/no salt soy sauce and I have not seen them add salt to any other item.

  • it’s not. You are talking about American Japanese cuisine, and it’s different, Americanized. Everything is salty and fried and greasy.
You still need a little salt in your dishes. You add spices, garlic, onions to make it palatable. There are special spice packs in the supermarket, with the spices already mixed – try to use them.
