How Do You Get Motivated To Exercise?

Whenever I try to exercise or lift weights I can’t make it last longer than a few days. I find exercise to be one of the most boring mind numbing things in the world, But , I want to be healthy and in shape. Any suggestions on how to get and stay motivated?

You need to make exercise a part of your daily routine, just like brushing your teeth or showering. Try to do it at the same time every day, preferably in the morning. What a sense of accomplishment you can enjoy all day after getting it out of the way early?
Exercise is not an immediate gratification, but if you stick with it over time, you will be a much happier person.
And if you can multi-task while exercising, such as preparing your mind for the day, listening to your favorite morning talk show, or whatever you can do while working out, then you’re not wasting any time!
Well, first, what I do is shop for clothes that is a tad smaller than my actual size. I know I wouldn’t be able to wear those immediately but that’s one of the ways how I motivate myself to exercise – to fit into my clothes.
I have a number of relatives that have serious illnesses caused by poor health and obesity. my dad had kidney failure that is caused by hypertension, and my mom had a heart problem caused by hypertension too. we have a family history of diabetes as well. So I think about what would happen to me when I get old, and it gets me moving to lose weight and stay healthy, because I see how they suffer because of a disease, and If I can do something to prevent those – then that’s how I motivate myself to exercise.
For exercise not to be boring, you should have variety. Don’t do the same exercises often, try to rotate and vary your exercise regimen, so it wouldn’t get repetitive and boring. If it’s possible for you to do a group exercise w/ friends (like team sports, marathon etc.), it wouldn’t be that tedious. Playing a round of basketball, or throwing frisbee etc. can burn a lot of calories and are considered as workouts.
And once you actually see some results, you would want to exercise more, just so, you could see how much you can lost weight, become more healthy, and of course, look absolutely fabulous in clothes that actually fit.

Yeah, I feel the exact same way. Exercise is so mundane and boring not to mention annoying but I do It because I know if I dont I wont look as good as I do now. Think Of the way you want to look and just think about that as you work out. Also I find that listening to music makes it so much better. I honestly could not work out without my headphones. Join a gym and maybe youll meet people who you can work out with. Good luck

till i went to a gym with like these huge *** people like muscular wise, thats what got me into it.
try to have this mindset
every time you walk into that gym, your one step closer to what your trying to achieve
may it be loosing weight or building muscle or better cardiovascular performance or whatever…even getting a hot girlfriend lol

you taking a step back and you may never get what you want
i go there consistantly cuz i know what i want out of it, and thats big muscles and brute strength, if i didnt id never be able to achieve it
just know that your doing yourself better and you should want to go
if not then maybe your not cut out to go

Do something that you enjoy doing!!! If you like to go paintballing go paintballing! IF you like to play basketball with friends then do it. Summer is a great time to get in shape. You have so many options!! The key to being motivated is to like what your doing! Find a friend that likes to do fun active things and do them together. You dont have to go to the gym to get in shape!
Set goals for yourself. Say, ‘I’m going to do this many reps or sets of this, with this much weight’ Or ‘I’m going to run for 20 minutes today..’ something like that. Like mentioned, find some awesome modivational, and high strung songs to get you moving. Hope that helps!
I get motivated when I think of how well I can do in my next basketball game if I push myself just a little bit harder. Have a goal, and stick to it, and think of how good you’ll feel if you do it right.
I don’t get motivated. I hate exercise. But I made a commitment to do it, so I just do it.
You can’t stay motivated. You just commit to doing it no matter how you feel.
