Running The Mile At School For A Fitness Test?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

My 3rd period gym class and I have to run a mile tomorrow for a fitness test. I need to get a good time for a good grade. The faster your time is, the better the grade. Are there any tips you could give me? Like maybe keeping myself motivated, pacing myself, or anything else you can think of. Thanks so much! :)

my advice to you is to not run as fast as you can at the start. if you do the n you wont be able to run the mile cuz youll be real tired. what you should do is a medium jog the WHOLE mile and if you want to, you can sprint at the last stretch of the mile. DO NOT STOP AND WALK!!
you can also breath in through your mouth and out thru your nose, this way you have a lot more air in your body! also stay motivated but dont think that you absolutley have to have the best time in your school!
    GOOD LUCK!

Eat energy bar an hour before running. Make sure you drink several glasses of water leading up to the run and try to go to the bathroom right before the race. Stay relaxed, chat with friends and if possible, run with someone near your level so you can encourage one another. Even when you think you’re ready to stop and puke you can squeeze out a last sprint to avoid letting down your running buddy. Or losing to them; depending on how you look at it.

    - you can bring an ipod to make the time pass faster
    - try to motivate yourself and just think one step at a time, you can do it !
    - breathe through your nose and out your mouth
and whenever I want to quit running (I, personally, hate running) I think that it’s good for my heart and health, so I actually want to continue. and afterwards I’m really proud of myself.
But whatever you do, don’t talk with friends while running.. it makes you more tired !

Well when people say run with a friend it doesn’t work at all when you run with Friends it slows you down, as does listening to music. I am a Sophomore in high school and am the 3rd fastest runner on my cross country team. I run a 5 42 mile time. Your goal is always to run faster than the person in front of you. Go at your pace but try to keep up with the people in front of you

One thing that I always experience is kids sprinting when the teacher says go. Its ok if you start out in the end you will catch up. One other tip is if you are doing laps ask the teacher for your splits. Also near the end kick it up a notch and run as fast as you can. Make goals for yourself to keep you motivated like, “oh I need to pass that person”.
    Good Luck!!!!!

Think about something else, maybe run with friends, bring an iPod (many teachers will let you, mine did), or think about how happy you’ll be when you’re done. Those have all helped me, hope it helps you.

    keep your breathing under control.
