What Are Some Good Fitness Classes To Lose Weight?
![]() |
So I’ve tried hot yoga but it doesn’t feel like it’s the kind of exercise I’m looking for, i need more stress on my body to burn more then what yoga is allowing. So I need ideas on what kind of classes will keep me moving and start burning calories/fat. Thanks for your input.

Try the lil jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr… it really works
I went to a sports therapist who specializes in weight loss. His office is practically part of the gym, so he really knows what’s going on.
He followed a Spin Class for one year. The class was generally female. After an entire year, most participants had failed to lose any significant weight. He is certain that aerobic alone simply will never lead to permanent weight loss.
He recommends “slow burn”. You body will burn far more fat calories when you do slower activities like hiking. I can attest to losing lots of weight whenever I go on vacation and am walking around all day. As low-impact as it might seem, just walking (or even better: hiking) seems to really melt fat quickly.
You could try step aerobics! It sounds kind of lame but its a lot of fun and a good cardio work out, which is what you need for weight loss.
Most of the YMCA’s I’ve been to offer free classes for members and cheap for non-members.
