I weigh 310 lbs and am trying to get down to 220 lbs. What would be a good diet to go on to maximize weight loss while also maximizing muscle gain?

Cut out the fast food and the sodas, and don’t go anywhere near a weight bench. I lost 85 lbs just by eating whatever I wanted really, just not late at night, and I made sure I exercised for at least 30 minutes a day. It’s gonna take a few months for you to get to 220 lbs, but you’ll be doing it healthily, and that’s a lot better than destroying your kidneys with weight-loss supplements, or throwing off your metabolism with a weird diet.
Stay under 2000 calories, eating small portions sporadically throughout the day. As far as exercise goes, just do 30 minutes or a mile (whichever comes first) on an elliptical machine each day. Little things, like taking the stairs, or drinking more water make such a difference.

Not sure if this is it, but I just saw a study at Pacific Northern University about some weight loss miracle supplement. You might try looking there.
