Increase incline a little, it will help your knee. Also, sprinting is GREAT!. Once you’re warmed up, increase the speed (I start at 7mph). Run for 30 seconds, then decrease the speed to 5mph. Run for 30 seconds, and increase the speed to 7.5mph for 30 sec. And so on. I go up to 9mph.
Then go back to your normal speed. As you get better as sprinting, you can increase time from 30 to 40, 50 seconds.
Make sure you stretch your legs before and after running. I also have a knee problem and can’t run outside.
start with slow pace. increase speed every few weeks. three months ago it’s really hard to me to do 3min sprint, but now i can do 10 min. you’ll feel more energized everytime you practice!
do interval training. for me, it’s 5 minutes walking fast, 5 minutes walking even faster, and 5 minutes sprint. i repeat this routine twice in 30min. ^o^ you wouldn’t be so bored from walking continuously, and you wouldn’t be so tired from sprinting continuosly. do variation on the interval every few weeks. the key to using treadmill is being creative with the variations!
run with mp3 player or while watching tv-it helps you to stay running
Don’t use a treadmill, get running a 3 miles course around a park or on the road, you will burn a third more calories that way.
If you insist on having a machine do the work for you – put the incline up.

use high intensity interval training – it is more effective for the bodyhttp://burnfatloseweight.info/weight-los…
Drop the treadmill and hit the road.
Mix it up with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training – Google it)
just run for about 1 hour everyday, trying to increase your speed more and more….you will find it helps.
I disagree with some of the comments. I think a treadmill is a great addition to a fitness routine when conditions don’t permit running outside. A good treadmill can also be softer on joints.
In my experience the best training can be done with the preset programs on a bunch of the machines out today. I think the important thing is to keep changing your routine so it’s not so routine.
