Fat Loss 4 Idiots

Is it considered a walking exercise? If I were putting it into a category what would it go under?

  • Mr. Angry:

    cardio

  • Jess:

    it’s cardio.
But i guess would be considered walking (i’m guessing you’re putting it into a diary of some type?)
Start running! Really way better for you.
And remember, don’t hold on to any handles while doing any machines, you aren’t burning nearly as many calories

  • Melissa M:

Its a lot like walking or running depending on how fast you go.
It adds a little more by the resistance and incline of the machine, plus it works out your arms as well.
My mom always said it was better than a tredmill for your knees and ankles.

  • madroxkr:

    A closed kinetic chain movement.

  • light to moderate jog.
its more like jogging, but doesn’t put pressure on legs near as much as running on hard surface.

  • confuzze:

cardio/ depending on the machine sometimes resistance do you know exactly what machine it is?
Contrary to what someone said hold the handlebars unless your so used t the machine you don’t sweet,. your body is burning calories if your sweating, it’s not a big differnence calorie wise between that and working yourself to death, just more dangerous in a few ways

  • Stephanie B:

i think it would be a jogging exersize.

I think elliptical is definitely cardio if you are using it a high enough level. As long as you are working hard and burning calories, I suppose it doesn’t really matter. If you aren’t putting much into it, you won’t get much out of it – I’ve never used one as plain old running has worked great for me. Sometimes I will use free weights, but running and a few pushups usually does the trick.

I have a friend that was working out a gym and thought that he got staff infection http://www.staffinfection.net and it was at a workout place right near us. He went to the doctor in Seattle though and got it taken care of with a few antibiotics – pretty scary if you ask me!
