Fat Loss Advice Needed?
![]() |
Ok guys I’m 23, 5’7 and roughly 75 kilos. I used to be fairly slim before but a terrible life style of takeaways during my uni days led to me piling on the pounds. Anyway I want to lose a little weight (5-10 kilos would be nice) but mainly I want to lose the fat in my belly.
I’m not gonna be crazy about this and try to lose it in a month. However I have set myself a target of losing most if not all of the fat by next summer. After all I do start to feel a little self-conscience about my tub when me and my friends are trying to impress girls on holiday.
Anyways diet-wise I’m giving up the crap slowly, and I’ve started running on the treadmill in the gym. A big problem for me is that I get tired very easily, but ironically I recover my energy really quickly as well.
So I’ve started running fast for a small period then walking for a smaller period and then running again. If I extend this to say an hour for 3-4 times a week with the occasional swim how long do you guys think it will take for me to see noticeable improvement?
Any other tips welcome except weight loss pills!

good to see someone not looking for shortcuts i have to commend you on that, now onto your question, hmm you may not be able to notice because you see yourself naked every day but everyone else will start noticing in probably 2-3 months(if YOU want to see results, take a picture of yourself once a month and you will be able to see if you are bigger or smaller etc), but hey try an Elliptical machine if you have access to one, its easier on the knees and its easier to breathe while on it aswell compared to running on a treadmill, try it out.. good luck man..
Do you see the box near the top of the page?
The one labelled ‘Search for questions: ‘?
Well type in ‘lose weight’.
You will find over 20,000 preexisting questions.
Try the misspellings ‘loose weight’ and there are another 5,500.
In all there are over 60,000 Health section questions requesting solutions to being or thinking you might be overweight.
On average these each yield 6 answers, that is over 360,000 answers.
I can usefully summarise these answers in 4 words:
EAT LESS DO MORE. Are you desperate enough to try this???
Try changing your lifestyle. Have a healthy living lifestyle by picking the right food to eat at the right time. If one really wanted to get loss of the unwanted fats that might cause diseases after time, he must have the will to change. Well, i know that the basics of losing weight were quiet hard – like dieting, exercising much and working hard enough. As for me, I was thankful enough to have been influenced by some septuagenarian mentor of mine whose mantra of healthy living lifestyle proved it all. So, for I really have a huge body last year, I pushed through these tips. Amazingly, I find it not so hard at first; instead it was like the usual ways after all. But, the change happened only with my intakes, the food, when to eat the right kind and the beverages that could badly affect my body were slowly eliminated. i too, can enjoy a feast of food in a day of the week, thus far making these tips not frustrating. I have written this article based on my personal experience for sharing. Hope this would help: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article…
Good Luck
Hi. If you’re looking to try a new exercise that is gentle and fun, I highly recommend tai chi. Not only will you see the ‘hard to lose’ belly and leg fat start to melt away, tai chi also helps to balance your emotions…which tends to reduce emotional/bingy eating.
