I have a gut that I’d like to get rid of, so I was wondering if walking for extended periods of time would help in doing so. Is this a viable option?

Now with that out of the way I would start by beginning a food diary, record every thing you eat and about how much you ate. Then go online and determine an average of how many calories you consume per day. it can but some people are different. i find that when i lose fat in areas that i get skinny all over because it evens out but some people lose fat in whatever part they exercise but keep fat in other parts. so try going for walks and work out your arms with some weights and some crunches or anything that exercises your belly.
Edit: i have to say first of all there is no tests that proves drinking a certain about of water per day helps you. just drink water when you are thirsty or dehydrated so bringing water when you run is a good idea. also drinking just water for a whole month instead of soda or juice is great for you too so go for it. don’t know if its true or not but makes sense… drinking cold water helps you burn calories because your body is working to warm itself up again, it may be little but putting a few ice cubes in your water for some calories is worth it, you also lose calories getting the ice too ^_^
