I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep last night, and ended up only getting 3 hours. (Definitely not doing that again.) Is it ok to exercise today or would that be too exhausting? My workouts are fairly light- 30 minutes a day on the elliptical.

    You can still train. If you go a week with no sleep and heavy exercise, you’ll stress your body. One night is no big deal.
    Go for it. You’ll sleep REALLY well tonight.

    Elliptical training can be hectic as well. I don’t think its unsafe to exercise on little sleep, as long as you do it right. Make sure you are properly hydrated and have eaten enough for the day. If possible, take a quick power-nap.
    If while working out you feel a headache coming on, stop immediately and drink some water (avoid anything with high sugar as this will lead to a sugar crash later), that shows an energy deficiency and if you don’t stop you could exhaust yourself.

    light workout is not a problem, just walk on a treadmill for 30 mins or so, folowed by some toning and breathing excersises, you will sleep better tonight:)

    You don’t want to over exert yourself. Take a nap tonight and work out tomorrow.

    if you feel ok go for it.
    maybe skip the gym and exercises at home.
    so you don’t crash your car
