I was wondering if Running would be a good exercise for me?
I was planning on to start running in the summer. I’m 15 and I’ve always been interested in running and swimming. So i was wondering if Running would be a good way to slim down. I want to have just a flat body. I don’t want to go into Body building and such, ’cause that’s not for me. So would someone let me know if over the summer Running would be a good way for me to get a slim and flat stomach. Thanks.

Swimming is better than running and it affects your whole body.

Running is a good exercise for everybody, but there are a few things you need to pay specific attention to:
When you start running, you need to make it a regular habit. This is critical for your joints.
Running 3 times a week with 1 day rest in between would be ideal. That way, your muscles have enough rest, i.e. running days are Mon-Wed-Fri.
Also make sure you’re going for efficiency. (This counts for swimming and all other aerobic sports as well!)

Long distance running burns a ton of calories, so I would recomend it for someone who doesn’t want huge muscles. Every mile burns 100+ calories, so longer runs will help to burn fat fast.
But, swimming can also help, in that if you swim a mile in the same time you run it, you burn 7x the calories.
It’s all about personal preference, running is easier to arrange and cheaper. So, whatever you like most.
