Scarsdale Plan

By Diet | Dec 19, 2009

On my quest for a smaller size of jeans, I recently tried the Scarsdale diet. It was designed by a real doctor, so it seemed a good and healthy option. I wish I talked to someone who has actually tried this system before I committed myself to him. What follows is a review of the Scarsdale diet by one of his disciples:

The Scarsdale diet is one to two weeks as the diet program consists of meals consisting of 43% protein, 22.5% fat, and34.5% carbohydrate. Typical results of a person who strictly follows the plan are ten to twenty pounds of weight loss.

Proponents of this program are available at a very rigid diet for two weeks, which led to a less strict diet for the next week or two. The latter is less rigid plan called "Keep Trim program.

The Good-As mentioned above, you may lose ten to twenty pounds in just a few weeks. These results are surprising. You get to enjoy a wide variety of lean meats, because the program is mainly based on consumption of protein. You may dress up your meat with lemon, vinegar, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and herbs. You may eat mostly all vegetables except heavy starches: corn, peas, potatoes and beans numerous. If you love meat and are an expert in the grid, you may benefit from this diet.

While drinking plenty of water is recommended, you are also able to keep your drink as the Scarsdale Diet> Power allows the use of artificial sweeteners.

The exercise is out! You can sit and relax as you lose weight on this plan. The Scarsdale diet plan even says that the exercise is not recommended for people over forty who are not already on an exercise program planned.

The Bad-While you may lose ten to twenty pounds in just a few weeks, you may not actually be losing fat. Most of the weight loss in this period of time will the weight of water (which will returnonce you start eating normally again.) Another form of weight loss is your lean muscle mass. The muscle loss is doubly bad because your muscle helps you burn fat. Losing muscle, lose the ability to burn as much fat.

If you're not a carnivore by profession, you do not like the meal plan of the Scarsdale Diet. If you like a potato in the oven (or really any kind of baked good you could get in a bakery), you'll be denying yourself a lot. The salads are big and tastybut how they are delicious with vinegar or lemon juice just like a bandage? If you are vegetarian, you do not get enough protein with this system as your main source of proteins, namely beans, is strictly limited.

Recreational activities such as pasta and pizza are a strict prohibition, like fries, brownies, rolls and croissants. What life do you live if you can not enjoy its simple pleasures?

Drinking water will be your only option at this health plan. While sodaswith artificial sweeteners are allowed, there are not many people who say they are "healthy."

You do not need to exercise, may sound like a great addition to an entire population of couch potatoes. The bad news is, with extreme calorie restriction (allowed only 800-1000 calories a day), you probably will not have the energy to get up out of bed first.

Final verdict:
If you have a school reunion ride, and you need onlyfit into your old jeans for a day or two, then you may want to try the Scarsdale Diet. If you are a carnivore that eats meat as he is out of style, you may actually enjoy this diet. If you eat a wide variety of foods on a regular basis and do not want too restricting yourself, you you will find too limited by the Scarsdale Diet.

Anyway, you will eventually gain all the weight lost during this recovery program as soon as you return to your normalEating calendar. Is it worth it? It is for you. Now, you may make your own decision.

If you want to keep the weight off and lose quickly, the Hoodia diet is recommended in conjunction with the Scarsdale Diet. Hoodia is a plant that grows deep in the African desert, and it is well known for its antioxidant properties as well as its ability to increase metabolic rate that makes your body burn calories faster. The best part of the Hoodia diet is that you cantry it and it did burn the calories your body by changing your internal chemistry of naturally healthy.
