What Is The Absolute Best Diet For A Leopard Gecko?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

I want my gecko to be in very good health. I want him to live for a very long time. What is the best thing to do for his diet? (If you can give me a day-to-day plan that would be great)
Thanks!

avout 7-10 crickets every two -three days, don’t worry if he won;’t eat them all sometimes they eat more on their own time. just leave them in the cage. dust the crickets with calcium right b4 u feed then gutlaod them about 24 hours b4 u feed them.
you can also feed the gecko some type of worm when you want but prob best if you don’t feed her worms more then twice a week. you can dust and gutlaod these too. im glad you are trying to feed your gecko the best you can!

The best diet is appropriately sized live crickets dusted with a calcium supplement. For a treat, you can feed the occasional wax worm.
If it is a baby, feed it about every other day as many crickets as it can eat. If it is an adult, feed at least three times a week as many crickets as it will eat.

i have one of those she has been living for over like 6 years now, and she has alot longer to live. my crickets stay in there own cage so she dont over feed so when you get crickets put a half of an orange in there or half a potato that will have the cricket have good nutrients in it so when the lizard eats it, it will be healthy. you can tell your lizard is healthy if it has a fat tail. also meal worms and calcium is good for them. you can find the calcium stuff at pet-co it will say for leopard gecko. Hope i helped you!!

Depends on how old the little guy is.
The important thing is to dust your food with calcium and other vitamins as well as gut loading your food before giving them to your leo. I personally have fed my leos superworms that have been gutloaded, its the insides that count. I’m sure the same can be done with crickets, but I don’t like the smell or sounds.
Stress is also another factor, having temperatures set properly, a wet hide to keep his shedding in order, and a 12-14 hour timer on his daylight lamp will really help.

Mine will only eat superworms or wax worms. He stopped eating crickets, which die quickly. I also wonder if gutted superworms will provide sufficient nutrients.
