Anybody Here Over The Age Of 60 Still Work Out At A Fitness Center ?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

My father who just turned 71 years old today, still goes to work out at “24 Hour Fitness Center” atleast 3 times a week. He is in better shape than a lot of men out there who are young enough to be his son.

I go to the gym three times a week. One of those days is I swim.

  • Maureen S:

Not at a fitness centre but at the local community CENTRE. I have also recently bought a treadmill which I have in my front room, so that I can watch T.V. and walk. It is just a personal thing. I prefer to not go to a fitness centre and be amongst a group, I prefer to do it on my own in my own good time. I will be 78 this year.

I’m 66. I belong to two gyms – one with an indoor pool and one with a great women’s weight room (and an outdoor pool). I go almost everyday to one or the other. I swim a lot, but also enjoy weights. I am one of the oldest people at the gym, but there are lots of older people at both of them.

I did until I lost my job. No one is going to hire a 60 year old male and the gym was a luxury that I simply couldn’t afford. Maybe someday but I don’t figure there is going to be any jobs available until a year of so and by then I will be drawing my social security.

  • jst4pat:

I don’t do the gym as the joints can’t handle the stress, but I do water aerobics 2 times a week year around in an outdoor pool. Amazing what this 71 year old body can do in water and can’t begin to do on land.

gym three times a week. Miles of walking on other days. It’s important as we age to keep as active as possible
I agree about some younger ones, for their age, they are in terrible shape. Not enough sport, and too much PC

  • CLYDE55:

I was going to the gymnasium twice a week until a recent illness and will have to work my way back to full fitness again.
It doesn’t take long away to feel unfit.

  • I go to physical therapy 2x a week plus another day for water aroebics . . I am not fit at all, but someday, hope to be !!!

  • Sweet Cupcake:

I just started working out last year when I was 56 and have felt a lot better since then. I go twice a week and walk the other days.

  • Boogerma:

I work out at a roller rink, go there 4 times just to skate, play hockey two times a week, teach skating three times a week, I’m 69

  • sharon s:

  • MissMazi:
