I know you have to be fit and good condition. But like the Army and the Marines I thought for sure you had to something else to get in.

no, there are no physical fitness requirements “enforced” in the Navy
No you don’t have to be fit and in good condition to join but you do have to be fit and in good condition to go to boot camp.
Most people who join today won’t leave for boot camp until Nov-Mar 2009 at least with us in Cleveland. I’m a navy recruiter. Our job while your in the delayed entry program is to make sure you are fit and mentally ready for boot camp.
Good luck.
Recommended minimum physical prerequisites are:
- 30 pushups.
- 50 situps.
- Climb a 20 foot rope without using your feet.
- Run 8 kilometres with a 12 kilogram rucksack in less than one hour.
- 8 chinups with your palms away from you as you grip the bar.
I am in the DEP program for the Navy. I am a 19 year old boy and am required to do 50 pushups ( two minutes), 60 situps (two minutes), and run a mile and a half in 11:30. This is what my recruiters say is passing.
I’ll take their word for it.
Yes you will have to pass an initial fitness assessment prior to shipping to basic. I honestly don’t know what the current requirements are, I retired from recruiting 2 years ago
Yes. You go thru a physical and you have to be a high school graduate or have a GED.
it depends on what your age is, 18-42?
