Can I Take This As A Sign Of Good Health And Fitness?

Fat Loss 4 Idiots

My cat is 10 years old and still loves to play various games around the house, which often include running about. (Sometimes when she plays she has such a kittenish face!). Is this a sign that she is fit and healthy for her age? Or do all cats that age still love to play?

I have a fourteen year old cat who is very active and has never had any health problems.
She still goes to the vet yearly for blood work in case something might be edging toward a problem.
Vets consider cats over eight to be “seniors” and they should have regular vet checks to catch any problems early and give a baseline for any future evaluations.

My cat is 10 years old also and still loves to play and run around a lot. I think it’s a good sign when cats still want to do that, although it does vary with the individual and some cats that age want to sleep a lot, and that doesn’t mean they are unhealthy. Cats that get overweight may also stop playing so much. The fact that your cat likes to run around still is a good sign that she’s fit and healthy.

My cat is 17 and I caught her a couple of days ago trying to catch her tail. I’m taking it as a good sign.

My cat is 15 and still plays and leaps about like a nutter, so hopefully the answer is yes!!

  • jamers:

That is a very good sign that your cat is still young and happy. Keep doing what you are doing! :)

    You can.
Just don’t neglect getting annual physical exams to verify health status.

oh yeah thats always a good sign of health
my cat died at 17 and only stopped playing about 6 months before he died
hes playing kept him healthy, young, agile and able to fight old age and kidney faliure for a full year untill his time came
play with your cat a lot, he loves it, you love it and it helps keep him with you longer
    ;-)
