How To Make Swimming A More Challenging Exercise?
![]() |
Hi,
I do a few laps in my neighbourhood pool. My only purpose is exercise. But I am increasingly finding it boring – lap after lap after lap. I tried water polo but the coach turned me down as I am myopic and cannot see well without swimming goggles.
What can I do to make swimming more fun and challenging? Someone suggested aqua-aerobics but that sounds too tame.

You can always join a team. A team will usually have a coach so that way you don’t have to make up an exercise and they will make it harder. Teams also compete at swim meets and that is a good way to tell how well you are doing. You can also go to a swimming store and buy fins and a pool buoy, this way you can work on different parts of your body.
i agree that u can try using a kickboard and pullbouy to vary it up. try all of the strokes and work on perfecting them. that way it gives you something to concentrate on. Also, joina team. that way you can do different sets that help build ur endurance and all around strenght. also try looking on-line for swim sets/practices. it will give you a goal to work towards and motivate you.
I recommend you use some coin and play with your friend.
1. Throw coin into water.
2. You and your friends move into the pool and….. who can find the coin at first one. That’s winner!
