I am usually a runner but my knees have been hurting as well foot I broke a few years back. So I thought I might take up riding a bike…Usually I run 3 or so miles a day, how much/long should I ride a bike to equal the same workout?

  • Jeffery:

im figuring around 10 miles on a road or trail that has up and down hill and curves should give you a fairly good work out as a 3 mile run would. You could also just bike until you feel the same tiredness or what ever you would like to call it as you would normally after your 3+mile run.

  • It will depend on how fast you ride, the terrain, the wind, the bike. If you are not use to cycling it will take more miles to get the same workout. Just ride and let your body tell you how far to go.
