I am 60 yrs. old and have been thru this wt. loss thing lots of times, here is what I have learned, hopefully it will help you, first of all, you HAVE to get your mind around the fact that wt. loss is a LONG TERM commitment, not weeks, but, months, maybe even yrs., it has to involve a permanent life change in eating habits, or the wt. will come back and in two yrs. you will be doing it all over again, When someone tells you that you can lose 20 lbs. a month, walk away, you will be starving yourself if you do that and it will not work long term, if you stay under 2000 calories a day, depending on your wt. now, and are moderately active, you will lose wt., if you lose 1-2 lbs. a wk. you are doing good and will not throw your body into starvation mode, if you lose too much to fast your body goes into starvation mode and your metabolism shuts down to conserve wt. loss and you defeat your purpose. Weight watchers is a good place to go, Atkins is good if you can stick with it and incorporate some healthy greens and high fiber veggies with it. What ever you do, good luck to you.
Losing 20 pounds per month may very well be unhealthy unless you are *very* overweight.
Best thing to do is find other people who have used the center you’re thinking of and see if it worked for them. You can ask the pricey center for references. If they won’t give out references, don’t use them!
