I just bought one and it seems like it will be a good exercise.

    My sister swears by it.
She use to be extremely overweight. This is the machine she used to lose a good portion that weight. She wasn’t very athletic and liked it because, unlike running, it did not put any pressure on her knees. Back pain you might need to get checked out by a doctor.

Never heard of anyone getting knee or back problems from an elliptical. There’s the possibility they can cause wear on your hips (as opposed to potential ankle issues from cross-trainers and steppers).
And yes they are a good if boring piece of exercise equipment.

Mine is nice and easy on the joints. Good workout. I need mine in front of the TV or I am bored silly after 5 minutes…
