What Is Really The Best Exercise Method To Tighten Up You Stomach?
![]() |
I heard that crunches don’t work and they can actually do damage to your neck and back if you do them wrong. I would love to know what quick exercise method I can use at home to get a tighter/flatter stomach…..

I SWEAR by pilates. Winsor pilates is my prefrence. Its main focus is the “core” and you see results quickly!

One of the biggest myths in exercise is that doing crunches or sit-ups will give you a flatter stomach. Spot reducing (reducing fat in one specific area) is impossible. The only way you can get a flatter stomach is to lose weight, which is done through cardio such as running, swimming, etc. This will burn fat EVERYWHERE in your body, including your stomach, but it’s impossible to burn fat specifically in the stomach. The body just doesn’t work that way.
You will, however, lose more weight the more muscle you have, so a combination of ab exercises and cardio is best. But simply doing crunches or ab exercises is not enough to give you a flat stomach. Those exercises are meant for building muscle and strength, not losing weight.
Pilates is definately the way to go. There is one DVD in particular that I really like, it’s Weight Loss Pilates (Pick your level) if you have a wal-mart or Best Buy around it’s in the DVD section. This is really good for beginners. And you can choose what level you want to start off on, and work your way up.
I got this and started using it, so far so good I am already seeing a difference. Its a diet program too not just exercises because diet is very important to achieving your goal as well. You just have to stick with it.http://www.supersixpackabs.com/
My favorite exercises are crunches on the ball, bicycle crunches, decline reverse crunches and the plank.
But exercises are only part of the story. Exercises only help to develop your muscles, but you have to lose body fat to get a much flatter stomach.
I’m a fan of lower carb diets. Check out this site to learn tons of exercises and tips about low carb diets to lose body fat.
